Arrival by public transport

Coming from Vienna (approx. 4 hours): By train from Vienna main station to Graz main station. Then take a GKB train from Graz to Köflach. From Köflach station take bus 702 to the station Piber Schloss, Piber Fesselweg or Piber Hagen Knobelbergsiedlung. Please note that bus line 702 only operates from Monday to Friday. At weekends, taxis are available at the taxi rank at Köflach station.

Coming from Graz (approx. 1 hour): Take a GKB train from Graz to Köflach. From Köflach station, take bus 702 to the station Piber Schloss, Piber Fesselweg or Piber Hagen Knobelbergsiedlung. Please note that bus line 702 only operates from Monday to Friday. At weekends, taxis are available at the taxi rank at Köflach station.itag betrieben wird. Coming from Vienna/Graz/Klagenfurt (A2): Take the Mooskirchen exit, then follow the signs to the Lipizzaner stud Piber / Bundesgestüt Piber. Coming from the direction of Klagenfurt, you can also optionally take the Packsattel exit and drive from there via Packsattel, Edelschrott and Köflach to Piber.

Coming from Vienna/Salzburg (A1/A9): Take the A1 exit Sattledt in the direction of Slovenia/Graz/Kirchdorf and join the A9. Continue on A9 until junction Graz-West, change to A2 direction Klagenfurt/Slovenia. Take the Mooskirchen exit, then follow the signs to the Lipizzaner stud Piber / Bundesgestüt Piber.

Parking spaces

At the foot of the hill of the Piber Castle and Stud Farm there are sufficient parking spaces for visitors and buses. Please take into account the 5-10 minute walk from the car park to the stud!
