1. Ticket office / Shop / Cinema
Equipped with a map you set out to discover the birthplace of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses of the Spanish Riding School.

Cinema:
A guaranteed screen adventure! Big and small visitors can sit in comfortable saddles and be entertained by educational and exciting horse films.
2. Practical zone
Hazardous bends and daring manoeuvres – without breaking a leg: The coach driving simulator allows you to drive through a virtual landscape with 2 computer-animated horses. Learn how to saddle and groom a horse and how to correctly plait its mane.
3. Museum
The museum offers an interesting exhibition about the special bond between man and horse.
4. Stud entrance
Walk through the turnstile into the stud’s inner courtyard and visit the stables.
5. Harness room
Here you can see the tack we use for our driving horses every day as well as historical representative tack.
6. Stallion stable
Only selected stallions which have already shown their talent at the Spanish Riding School come to Piber for one mating season to provide the next generation of Lipizzaners.
When they are between 25 and 28 years old, the school stallions of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna get their well-earned retirement and return to the place where they were born, the Federal Stud Piber.
7. Covered yard
The brood mare herd is the heart of the Lipizzaner stud. At the covered yard you can see the mares with their foals. About 50 foals are born in Piber every year.
8. Farrier
Watch the farrier at work and learn interesting details about hoof care.

9. Paddock
Get very close to the horses at the fenced-in paddock. Our horses enjoy being gently touched by visitors – feel for yourself how velvety their noses are!
10. Training / Riding hall
Come and watch our riding and driving division during their training in the stud’s historic riding hall.

11. Carriage house
An exhibition of historical uniforms, coaches and sleighs. You will find rarities like Crown Prince Rudolf’s hunting coach or a vis-à-vis carriage that belonged to Emperor Franz Josef.

13. Playground
Here your children can play and have fun in the fresh air. The playground lies directly next to the café so that parents can have an eye on their children while they are playing on the slides, swings and climbing ropes.
14. Castle
The baroque castle features an impressive courtyard with arcades and was built between 1696 and 1716 imitating the style of the Italian architect Domenico Sciassia. Today it houses the stud administration, seminar and event rooms as well as the restaurant Caballero in the vaulted cellars.

16. Horse pool / Lake
When the horses ride through the horse pool it is not only to cool their legs but it is an integral part of our driving and riding horses’ training. The recreational area beside the lake invites you to have a relaxing picnic in the grass while your children can have fun in the tree house.
17. Arena
The unique arena provides 2.000 seats and is ideal for all kinds of events. This is also where the traditional stud events like the Mother’s Day Gala and the Autumn Parade take place.
